Time: 10 minutes
Materials: flashcards, sounds of means of transport

  • Tell children they will hear the sounds of various means of transport: “You are going to hear noises of train, an ambulance, a bus, etc.”
  • Children are to match the sound with the right means of transport.
  • Pause between individual sounds and ask: “What is it?” Children answer back: “It’s a/an ...” Show them a picture of a given vehicle and repeat its name chorally.

Extension Activity:

Within an Art lesson, children may also draw a picture of their favourite means of transport.
