COMPETITION CHARADES
(Jobs)

• Split the pupils into two or three teams.
• Each team competes against the other, with one member of each standing in front of their respective team.
• Whisper to the team representatives a profession that they should act out “Be a (chef)“.
• The pupils act out the characteristics and activities of the chosen profession to his/her team-mates.
• The first team to guess what occupation their team-mate is miming win a point.
• Every team changes the student at the front and the game is repeated with the children miming a different profession.

Extension Activity:

Use your knowledge of what some of the children’s parents do for a living and ask a selected child to mime their Mum or Dad at work. Be sure that it is a job that the class will know. Say “Show the class what your Mum/Dad does“ and allow the class to guess the job the child is miming.
