Subject: Humans and their world
Cross-curricular links: English language
Time: 10 minutes

  • Draw a happy face and a sad face to represent I like and I don’t like on the board.
  • Then line the children up in teams at the opposite end of the room with a clear run to the board.
  • Whisper to the last child in each team “I like tomatoes“ and demonstrate how the team should whisper the sentence down the line until the front team member hears it, runs to the board and draws a tomato next to the happy face.
  • Change food and drink items and like/don’t like structures as appropriate.
  • Reward the fastest team.

Note:

The activity can be adapted to practise any vocabulary.
