Time: 15 minutes
Materials: pictures – jobs and items used in the jobs

  • Divide the students into two groups.
  • Assign students in the first group with individual professions. Assign students in the second group with objects used in given professions.
  • Students move around the classroom. Their task is to create pairs that belong together, i.e. the profession and relevant object. They therefore ask one another questions such as: “Hello, what’s your job? What do you do? Are you a/an …? Do you need/use a/an….in your job?”
  • Once all pairs are formed, the game is over.

teacher – textbook/blackboard
pilot – plane
fisherman - rod
sailor – boat
taxi driver – car
hairdresser – scissors
photographer – camera
fireman – ladder
painter – brush, paints
musician – piano
cook – stove
carpenter – hammer
singer – microphone
secretary – computer/phone
nurse/doctor – injection
