STAND UP IF TRUE

• Check that the children can remember the names of some selected food items by playing this game.
• Hold up a picture of a mushroom and say “It’s a tomato“. Show the children that if they think it is a tomato they should stand up, if they don’t think it’s a tomato they should sit down.
• Repeat the above progressively quicker and change between a truthful matching of picture and statement with a lie as quickly and as often as you think the children can respond.
• Add one or two new pictures for the children to guess (if they don’t already know) if you are telling the truth or not. Don’t leave it too long before telling them the truth and make sure you remodel the word when all the children are focused and listening.
